According to the data, the highest production value of PDO (protected designation of origin), PGI (protected geographical indication), and TSG (traditional specialty guaranteed) quality labels products in Italy was generated by cheeses with more than 5.2 billion euros. Meat-based products followed with an added value of close to 2.3 billion euros.
