Frost caused the largest insured costs amongst natural disasters in Spain in 2022, at over 221 million euros. The frosting started on April 1st and lasted six days, affecting numerous regions across the country. Droughts also caused significant losses that year, with those in herbaceous fields ranking as the second-costliest disaster of 2022, at 92.2 million euros. That year, the total insured costs of natural disasters in Spain reached approximately 1.5 billion euros.
