According to an annual survey conducted in China in the beginning of 2024, around 32 percent of surveyed female respondents who did not want to get children said the reason for that was a fear of loosing freedom and personal space. Meanwhile, less than 25 percent of male respondents quoted this as a reason to not have kids.
