In 2023, approximately 77 percent of online users in Sweden made voice or video calls using the internet. The share of Swedish digital population who made voice or video calls over the internet experienced a constant but moderate increase in the years before the global outbreak of COVID-19. In comparison, between 2019 and 2020, the online voice and video calling penetration among internet users experienced an increase of over 10 percentage points, going from 64.6 percent to 74.9 percent.
