The banking and professional services industries were the most active sectors in terms of investments into artificial intelligence (AI) in 2023. The banking industry's spending on AI-centric systems accounted for 15.7 percent of all investments, which was equivalent to approximately 5.37 billion U.S. dollars. Professional services followed, with 11.2 percent of all spending.
