According to a study conducted in 2023, 54 percent of social media users aged between seven and 18 years in England and Wales had seen people talking about overcoming difficult relationships on social media. Overall, 44 percent of users had seen content that was hateful toward women and girls, and 41 percent had seen content that was hateful toward men and boys. Moreover, 39 percent of respondents had encountered explicit content such as nudity or pornography on social media platforms.
