Points awarded during the Six Nations 2024, by country
During the 2024 Men's Six Nations Championship, the Irish national team won four out of its five matches, earning a total of 20 points. Meanwhile, France sat in second place with 15 points and Wales were bottom with 4 points.
The Six Nations scoring system sees teams awarded points according to match results, performance, and overall win record. A win automatically earns a team four points, while a draw or a loss sees a team awarded two or zero points, respectively. All teams can earn a bonus point if they score four tries or more, irrespective of result, or in the case of a losing side, by losing by seven points or fewer. If a losing side scores four tries or more and loses by a margin of seven points or fewer, it receives two bonus points. Meanwhile, teams that win all of their matches, known as a Grand Slam, are awarded an extra three bonus points.
