In 2023, an impressive 93 of the most watched U.S. television programs were attributed to NFL games, demonstrating the great importance of sports content and football, in particular, with the population. What is more, the number grew by over 20 broadcasts between 2020 and 2023. By contrast, news and politics programming are falling out of favor, with only one broadcast being in the top 100 in 2023.
