In August 2024, over 70 percent of TV sets in Brazil tuned in to free TV, with the 10 percent who tuned in to pay TV the linear TV consumption that month surpassed 81 percent. At the same time streaming from video-on-demand platforms accounted for seven percent of TV sets, and YouTube viewing added up to 10.9 percent of TV sets in Brazil.
