Approximately 2,000 kilometers of new power lines were laid in Germany between 2009 and 2023. Furthermore, more than 6,800 kilometers of electric transmission lines were either under construction or awaiting approval in the country as of June 2023, as part of the federal strategy for the expansion of the electric power system.
