During a late 2022 survey among consumers in the United States, it was found that close to half of the respondents said they made at least one change to their entertainment subscription as a result of economic conditions. At that time, 26 percent of survey participants said they cancelled a paid subscription to save money. This figure was six percentage points higher among Millennials, but 11 percentage points lower among Boomers and matures. Millennials were also more likely to drop a premium subscription and replace it with a free, ad-supported service.
