National investment policies implemented worldwide 2023, by region

In 2023, African countries implemented the highest number of national investment policies, with 38 in total, closely followed by Asian countries. Whereas developing economies tend to prioritize policies more favorable to investment to boost their economies, developed countries tend to prioritize policies less favorable to investments in order to counter national security concerns. Of the 137 policies implemented that year, almost 100 were deemed as positive to investment.
