State-owned investor deals worldwide from 2018 to 2023, by industry

While sectorial preferences for sovereign investors varied slightly throughout the six-year investment period between 2018 and 2023, no drastic changes in asset allocation were seen. Investment in energy and industries remained relatively stable, while health care experienced a peak in the number of investment deals in 2022. However, the portion of investment did not exceed ten percent. Deals in the technology industry saw a continuous decrease, dropping to 18 percent in 2023, while real estate investment accounted for roughly one-quarter of deals throughout most of the six-year period.
