In 2022, China was the largest primary producer of gallium in the world, with production having amounted to 600 metric tons. Russia was the second-largest primary producer of gallium that year, at a distant five metric tons. The leading use of gallium is in the production of electronics such as light emitting diode bulbs, transistors, and semiconductors.
