Global attitudes of internet users toward data localization 2023
As of June 2023, roughly three in four surveyed internet users worldwide supported data localization. However, in the case that data localization added to costs, only 44 percent were in favor of it. Meanwhile, 34 percent were against governments localizing data if that would mean adding to costs, up from 11 percent who favored data localization at no increase in costs.
