In fiscal year 2022-2023, ages of residents in continuing care facilities (usually long-term care facilities in residential or hospital-based settings) in Canada averaged to around 81 years. Residents in hospital-based continuing care were slightly younger than those in residential facilities, with residents in Manitoba and British Columbia having the highest average age.
