Cases of malaria in the EU/EEA 2008-2022

Between 2008 and 2015 in the EU/EEA countries, the reported cases of malaria had a steady growth, reaching its peak in 2015, with a total of roughly seven thousand cases. In 2020 a drastic drop was reported, followed by an increase on the following two years. In 2022, the number of reported malaria cases in those countries totaled over six thousand cases. This statistic shows the number of reported cases of malaria in the EU/EEA between 2008 and 2022.
