In 2021, the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer among men in South Korea was lung cancer, with 14.7 percent of all cancer cases. This was followed by stomach and colorectal cancers. That year, the most common cancer type overall was thyroid cancer, which saw a much higher incidence rate among women.
