In 2021, men in South Korea had an age-standardized incidence rate of 596.7 cases of cancer per 100,000 inhabitants. While men have historically had higher incidence rates of cancer compared to women, the rate has decreased slightly compared to a decade ago, while rates among women have risen. Cancerous neoplasms are the leading cause of death in South Korea, particularly in people 40 years and older.
