All the U.S. car dealers analyzed have increased their prices by well over 100 percent each quarter between the third quarter of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2022. This rapid new car price markup was spearheaded by AutoNation, which recorded price increases by around 134.7 percent in Q4 2022.
