Romania, Montenegro, and Portugal are the three European countries whose business communities display the greatest confidence going into 2024, according to the annual survey of the association of European chambers of commerce and industry. Slovenia, Lithuania, and Austria are the three European countries with the most pessimistic business communities in 2024, while the business communities of Germany and France, the largest economies in the group, were also negative about the economic prospects in the following year.

The index is calculated as the percentage of “Increase” minus the percentage of “Decrease”, all divided by the percentage of “Constant”.
