According to the forecasts of the staff of the Eurosystem - the group of central banks of the counties which use the Euro currency - the growth in the number of persons in employment in the Eurozone is set to slow over the coming years, declining from 1.4 percent in 2023 to 0.8 percent in 2024 and 0.4 percent the following two years. In spite of the absolute number of people employed still increasing, the share of the workforce unemployed is set to increase by 0.1 percent in 2024, according to forecasts.
