According to a survey conducted in France in December 2023, over 80 percent of the respondents think that we should stop using fossil fuels for energy production. However, only 23 percent of them agree that fossil fuels should be phased out urgently to limit the consequences of climate change.
Fossil fuels accounted for over 40 percent of the electric power generation in Europe in 2021, and are the main source of carbon dioxide emissions in the world.
