According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight in Taiwan in November 2023, around 65 percent of respondents aged 55 and above said that when shopping, they find and purchase items online. This shopping behavior was more self-reported by the younger respondents.

Among a total of 12,698 respondents, 2,704 were between 16 and 24 years old, 3,756 were between 25 and 34 years old, 3,307 were between 35 and 44 years old, 2,005 were between 45 and 54 years old, and 926 were above 54 years old.
