In the fiscal year 2022, 11-year-old girls had the highest share of obesity among girls in Japan, reaching over ten percent. The obesity rate decreases in older age cohorts, going down to around seven percent in 16-year-old girls. Overall, girls showed lower obesity rates than boys in all age cohorts.
