The net interest income of the Bank of England was exceptionally high in 2023. The central bank reported a total net interest income of 98 million British pounds, more than seven times higher than in the previous year. The bank's total net operating income increased as well, but much less drastically than the interest income. The sharp increase in interest income is attributable to the rising interest rates throughout 2022 and 2023.
