In 2022, over 98 percent of mobile phone shipments in the overall Indian market were locally produced 'Made in India' as compared to 19 percent in 2014. Initiatives such as Make in India, Production Linked Incentive, and Atma Nirbhar Bharat were introduced in the past years to increase local manufacturing and value addition in the country.
