In Portugal, as of 2023, internet's penetration rate was the highest in the metropolitan area of Lisbon, reaching 92 percent. Following, the Algarve presented a penetration rate of more than 89 percent, while the North stayed in the lowest position, with slightly more than 82 percent of its population using the internet. Overall, almost 86 percent of people in Portugal used the internet.
