According to a survey conducted in South Korea in 2020, around 66 percent of female and 50 percent of male respondents stated that they had gotten cosmetic plastic surgery for their own personal satisfaction. This was the most common motivation for both genders, followed by one's appearance being important in life and a lack of confidence.
