The Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio of the Latvian banking industry increased overall between 2015 and 2024, despite some fluctuations. After reaching its peak at 29.18 percent in the fourth quarter of 2021, it experienced a downward trend until the end of 2023. As of the second quarter of 2024, it stood at 23.05 percent. Despite fluctuations, the ratio managed to remain above the lowest ratio recorded in the first quarter of 2016 at 15.63 percent.
