The Tier 1 ratio of the Latvian banking industry increased overall between 2015 and 2023, despite some fluctuations. After reaching its peak in the fourth quarter of 2021 at 29.19 percent, the ratio saw a downward trend. By the fourth quarter of 2023, it stood at 20.56 percent. Despite this, it remained above the lowest ratio observed in the second quarter of 2016 at 15.63 percent.
