The Tier 1 ratio of the Belgium banking industry increased overall between 2015 and 2024, despite some fluctuations. In the second quarter of 2024, the ratio was around 17.85 percent, slightly lower than in the previous quarter. Despite being lower than the highest ratio of 18.84 percent in the third quarter of 2021, it was significantly higher than the lowest ratio of 14.84 percent in the first quarter of 2015.
