The amount of Tier 1 capital in the Belgium banking industry increased overall between 2014 and 2023, albeit with some fluctuations. Starting at 53.58 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2014, it amounted to 73.36 billion euros in the fourth quarter of 2024. In fact, this marked the highest value observed in both Tier 1 and Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) capital during this period.
