Health insurance penetration rate in India FY 2017-2022, by type of scheme

In the financial year 2022, health insurance penetration in India for group schemes was 0.16 percent. For retail schemes and government schemes, it was 0.13 percent and 0.03 percent respectively. Since 2017, a gradual increase in insurance penetration has been noted in India.
