During a survey of CEOs in 2023 when asked about potential disruptions to business strategy in the upcoming year, the top concerns were geopolitical instability and inflation. Both of these answers were given by just over half of the CEOs of who surveyed. Second in the list of concerns was other sources of financial and/or market instability, with almost 40 percent of respondents who gave this as their answer.
CEO perspectives on expected external disruptions to business strategy in the United States in 2024
* "Other" responses included but were not limited to: AI, interest rates, cost of capital, environmental regulations, media and advertising disruptions.
CEOs were asked to select their top three expected external disruptions.
Surveyed CEOs included Global 500 CEOs, Fortune 500 CEOs, and select public and private CEOs in the global Fortune community.
