According to a 2023 survey on public views on sustainability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, 50 percent of respondents in Saudi Arabia believed that climate change is not as serious an issue as commonly portrayed. Sustainability practices requiring low to medium effort were prioritized by respondents.

Survey sample was equally distributed across six MENA countries: Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Qatar, and UAE.
Survey question was as follows: "To what extent do you agree or disagree with the following statements? Climate change is not as serious an issue as it is made out to be."
