According to a 2023 survey over half of Gen Z shoppers in the United States bought secondhand items as a more affordable alternative, while about a third of them went thrifting in order to find vintage items. In comparison to the other participants surveyed, the younger generations seemed to be more driven by sustainability and chose to shop secondhand in order to reduce their environmental impact.
