Get in touch with us nowAs of 2024, a majority of European Union citizens agree that the European Parliament should become more or less important within the EU, with 56 percent of respondents agreeing compared to only 28 percent who thought the parliament should become less important. An additional 10 percent of respondents thought there should be no change to the importance of the parliament in the EU, while seven percent said they did not know.
There is significant divergence between the opinions of citizens in different EU countries, with 85 percent of Cypriots, 76 percent of Spaniards, and 73 percent of Greek believing that the parliament should increase in importance, while 55 percent of Czechians, 43 percent of Slovakians, and 39 percent of Bulgarians preferred the opposite.
