Pet supply retail includes retail establishments that sell pet and animal supply products such as animal feed, accessories, as well as the animals themselves. Pet stores include chain businesses (Freßnapf, Futterhaus) and independent specialized retailers with a retail space of at least 300 m². Smaller pet shops (with less than 300 m² of retail space) are not included individually anymore. Figures for previous years are based on earlier source information.
