In 2022, there were 237 million transactions conducted with point of sale (PoS) payments acquirers in Saudi Arabia. This was more than double the volume of the previous year, and the biggest single year total in the four year period between 2018 and 2022. Apart from 2018 when the number of transactions were 48,000, every subsequent year recorded significant increases with transactions totaling in the millions.
