In 2022, there was a total of 11,800 active merchants in Saudi Arabia accepting QR code payment transactions. This was the highest number of active merchants in the four year period since 2018 when there were only 470 active merchants accepting QR code payments. 2019 and 2022, both saw the the biggest increase in active merchants over the previous year with roughly 3,000 new active businesses accepting QR code payments in each of these years.
