In 2022, there was a total of 53,000 merchants registered for QR code payment acceptance in Saudi Arabia. Since 2018, the number of merchants continued to increase with the biggest increase of new merchants seen between 2019 and 2020. Overall, the total number of registered merchants had significantly increased from just 1,900 to 53,000 over the four year period.
