Over half of the buildings constructed in Italy between 2016 and 2022 had the highest energy performance certificate (EPC) ratings, A4 or A3. That was a sharp increase in comparison to the buildings completed between 2006 and 2015, as only 5.5 percent of them had a rating of A4 or A3. This has indicated that buildings completed in the past years tended to be much more energy efficient than older buildings.
