According to a 2023 survey on public views on sustainability in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) had the highest share of respondents considering the environment one of the leading global concerns with 59 percent.

Survey sample was equally distributed across six MENA countries: Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Qatar, and UAE.
Survey question was as follows: "Which do you think are the 3 biggest issues affecting the world today?"
