The demand of cathode active materials (CAMs) for the production of lithium-ion batteries in Europe was consistently larger than the production capacity of CAMs in the region. Both the supply and demand of CAMs are projected to grow in Europe over the next decade.
In 2023, East Asian countries accounted for approximately 95 percent of the global production of battery cathode active material.
