In 2024, many self-storage operators considered inflation to be the greatest challenge for the next one year, a survey in 17 European countries found. About 34 percent of respondents perceived inflation as a significant obstacle, followed by 18 percent who cited increasing land costs. The economic downturn was a major obstacle for self-storage businesses, with 10 percent of those polled expressing concern.
