Share of medical mask-related online fraud in China in 2020-2021

In 2020 and 2021, the share of online fraud cases related to medical masks exceeded five percent. According to the People's Supreme Court, fraud was the most prevalent internet crime in China in 2021, accounting for around one-third of all cases. In the same year, the number of fraud cybercrime cases in China reached 103 thousand recorded cases.
