In 2022, Saudi Arabia had nearly 70 billion Saudi riyals deposited in electronic monetary institutions (EMI) digital wallets. Between 2018 and 2022 year-over-year deposits were consistently higher than each previous year, and the value of deposits continued to witness growth throughout the period.
