As of 2023, the South Korean public pension fund, the NPS or National Pension Service, had its portfolio allocation split almost in half between foreign and domestic financial securities. From these securities, stocks accounted for 45 percent of total asset allocation, and bonds followed in second place with 39 percent of asset allocation, while alternatives accounted for the smallest portion.
