As of 2023, the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) of China held a portfolio almost exclusively allocated to domestic financial securities, with just 10 percent of the NSSF portfolio being allocated to foreign assets. The largest proportion of funds was allocated to bonds, followed by stocks and alternatives, which accounted for 14 percent of asset allocation.
